Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Sharing and exchanging rather than buying and selling to make the world a better place.
ABOUT ME
Reflexive, sometimes quiet, good listener, responsible, open-minded, usually happy, a bit melancholic, maybe pessimistic, social rather than sociable -I love spending time with people who are on the same wavelength, not with just anyone.Atheist.
PHILOSOPHY
Seize the day. Live and let live. Work to live, don't live to work (yes, it's all been said before, but can't find anything more original that summarises my idea of life).Knowledge will set you free. Do it now -you may die tomorrow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I'm new here so right now I'm just looking ;-). I don't think I can offer a place to sleep right now -I live with my partner in a small place, but maybe in the near future we can make some arrangements.
So, WHAT I can offer right now is:
-if you are coming to Barcelona for 3 days to see the essentials: after doing your homework (i.e. study Lonely Planet Barcelona) you can contact me and ask your doubts and, if we coincide, we can meet or speak on your arrival and I can help you plan your visit in a practical way;
-if you are coming for a longer period for some reason I can be of more help -give you information about how to do things for free or spending very little, help you find what you need or want to do here, show you around on a bicycle if I have the time and if you like cycling, show you or tell you about my favourite places which don't appear in travel guides...
And, most important, WHO I'd like to "help":
-You are not thaaat young (you decide what that means, that's what I feel at 42 now!), you're travelling alone either because you like it or because you have no choice, you are travelling on the cheap for the same reasons, you've been staying at youth hostels where your roommates could have been your children, you've had a shy day or an unlucky one and have had no opportunities for verbal exchanges and would enjoy a nice talk with a local over a nice cup of tea (or glass of beer)-well, I might be of help (Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to discriminate young people- I've been in such situations and I know it's always easier to get around when you are younger and most people your age are in decent hotels with their children,so I'd just like to offer what I can to people who may need it more)
-You are looking for Barcelona's crazy nights and cheap alcohol and would like someone to introduce you there-I'm not the person you need.
Well, I think I'd like to establish a contact with whoever might be interested beforehand and then just let things flow -if we meet here and we enjoy each other's company, great! otherwise, no problem!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm just beginning to use this website but I've had informal couchsurfing experiences before -hosting people, showing people around, organizing their trips (in my city/country or others -one of my favourite activities, language exchanges with foreigners, music exchanges -great experiences, all of them.
Interests
Music above all - listening to it, discussing it, going to live concerts, playing it...I'm learning to play the piano (at this age!). Reading, cycling, independent travel, alternative cinema, contemporary philosophy, languages, getting together with friends for Argentinian BBQs and singing, going to the beach, sharing ideas about life, watching the sunset from my terrace...."Anti-interests": TV, buying objects, gymnasiums.

Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music except commercial pop, techno and its variations. Argentinian folkloric and Brazilian music are my favourites. French cinema above all. Too many books to list here-I hate books Da Vinci Code style if that helps.
Teach, Learn, Share
Somebody coming here might learn: my language, other languages, about my music, my country and this country, my culture, from my academical knowledge, how to see the city with very little money, cooking typical dishes.
