I'm Marianne and I’m from Utrecht, the Netherlands. I recently quit my job and my home to travel, starting with the Camino de Santiago! I’ve already met very nice people on my way and I’m curious who I will meet next!

I like to visit museums and art exhibitions. In my free time I practice yoga, read, play the piano and meet with friends.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I like to travel and meet different people and experience each other's cultures. I think the best travel memories are often because of the people you’re with. Outside of Couchsurfing I’ve both hosted people and been a host, and it’s nice to show people around and learn about your own culture too, and see and learn more when you’re a host with someone! Also now I’m walking the Camino de Santiago and I would love to meet many people on my way. And to stay in someone’s home is an even more special experience!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like to listen to almost all kinds of music.
I like going to the cinema, especially when it’s in a nice old building or outside. Films I like are for example Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, On the road, Mirai, and I think I have to see Into the wild! Also Dutch movies like Mi Vida and Rabat I like and I sometimes watch series like Borgen, Feel good and Flight attendant.
Books I recently read and liked are amongst others Normal people, The Artist’s Way, the Neapolitan novels, The Salt Path, The Midnight Library.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Travelled in India by myself for two months. Hiking from the north of the Netherlands to the south in one month. And now the Camino de Santiago, starting in Lissabon!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach you to play the piano, some yoga, meditation, cook vegetarian meals, speak Dutch, English or maybe another language….whatever comes to mind! I like to learn more about the culture (music, food, …) and the people of the country I visit. I also like to learn (a bit of) the language. I always like to share travel stories and life experiences with others.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I play the piano and I have some experience in yoga. I studied history of art so we could go to a museum or exhibition together and I can cook a nice vegetarian meal too. Also I like to share experiences. And if you want to practice languages I would like to practice that with you too!
