About Me
Hello Everyone!
My name is Maria and I am coming to Japan to spend a year.
I like slow travelling and my plan is to spend one month in one place to get to know it deeply, like a local. I will mostly stay in Hostels, so I can take my own rhythm, but from time to time I would also like locals to host me for a few days because it is a completely different experience. I want to talk about your culture, and answer to all your questions about mine. I look for hosts that are willing to do things together (not necessarily all the time, I understand you might be busy).
I am also open to hang out around the city during my stays at the Hostels, so if we are in the same city we can go grab a beer (or a miso soup), or visit something: a different city, a museum, a temple, every plan is welcome!
I am very interested in learning everything I can about Japan: culture, language, origami, ikebana, tea ceremony, FOOD (this one might be the most important hahah), traditions, I want to wear a Kimono at least once to go to a Mitsuri, I want to sleep in a futon, take a shower in a Sento and relax in an Onsen.
I also love to do some sport and I would love to do some hike, bike, running or just stroll around. Join me if you are interested too :) (don't worry, I am not a professional, so my rhythm is not difficult to catch up with).
Nice to meet you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked the "Camino de Santiago" (Saint James way)
+820km walking trail in 32 days + 42 days volunteering as hospitalera in one hostel at the Camino.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn languages and cultures.
I can teach languages (Spanish and Catalan), drawing, painting, taking pictures and using SLR cameras.
I am also a nice cook, we can share delicious meals!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook typical spanish and catalan food, tell about our crazy traditions. If there is anything I know you want to learn, I can teach you; If you need help painting your house walls I can help you (I have great experience painting my mum's house!); if there is whatever you need, just ask! After all, you are helping me when you are hosting me.
Sharing is caring!
