About Me

Hi,
I am Marie-Lou, french 19 years old girl, vegetarian and student in sociology. Curious and easily surprised.

I am a person who needs to leave my everyday life, I need to know how runs the world, to see how is the nature somewhere else, I need to speak with different people of me to have an objective vision of the world and simply to be blossomed.

I love finding myself alone sometimes, in the Nature but after having experience life in community I know that happiness comes when it is shared and that the Man is made to live in community.

I love concerts and festivals but also the quiet of the mountain and of the forest.

I love hanging out in the street, drinking beers on a terrace, visiting museums and monuments.

My mother always tells me and my sister that "After the rain always comes the sun. " (Après la pluie vient toujours le beau temps). It becomes my common thread.

Martin Luther King said "If a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live". I love this quote, for me, the commitment and activism is essential and I need of that to be happy.

Camus is my favourite author. He gives me a happiness philosophy. We have to make the most of our lives, thrive of each moment as it is the last one, never put barriers, everything is possible, let's be happy in the simplicity or in the extravagance if we need. " Ils n'avaient pas assez vécu, n'ayant jamais vécu. Et la mort était comme un geste privant à jamais d'eau le voyageur ayant cherché vainement à calmer sa soif."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Longuest the staying will be, and nearest of local people I will be, best will be my discovering of a country and my smile.
Meeting people ans sharing with them simple moments is the best way to make friends and to be happy.
Sleeping on the couch of a stranger, in his garden or in his bath is probably the coolest way of travelling.
(Woofing is also as cool)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a day of hiking, experiencing natural hot pools in a valley (Canyon del colca) in Peru under thousand of stars, the milky way and shooting stars whereas it's 0 degree outside.

Skiing in august in New-Zealand and one week after swimming in the freezing ocean at 7.00am.

Organizing in my university night concerts after a day of strike to protest against a governmental law.

Teach, Learn, Share

First of all, I am somebody who is very curious, I love discovering new ways of being, of thinking, of doing even if it's very far away from mines. I am open-minded and I have to say, my curiosity leads me to ask many questions.

I love cooking and I can teach french cook.

I love hiking, playing tennis, cycling and running so we can do these activities together.

Just let's have a beer on a terrace, hanging out in the street, sitting down in front of the river.
