Hallo, stranger! So glad you are finally here.

My name is Maria Agustina, but you can call me Marie. I already passed my second name, and how difficult it is to pronounce for foreigners. I'm an Italian short girl from Buenos Aires, Argentina, living in Oslo, Norway. Kind of confusing, don't you think?

On August 2018, I quit my job and moved to Oslo. I've always want to study abroad and, after thinking for a long time, I chose Scandinavia.

I am anxious, unquiet, very curious (I mean, VERY, TOO, AS MUCH, SO, SO MUCH), kind, sympatisk and funny. I LOVE (and I really miss) to go out with friends at afternoon and during the night, drinking coffee, having some beers, walking around… I also miss the food from my country. Have you tasted Argentinian food, delicatessen and wine? If you had, you probably miss that too. I like learning and helping, laughing, smiling and connecting with people. I believe in honesty with oneself and others, in saying what you think and expressing your feelings. So, I am honest, openminded and sensitive. And when I am not, I improve it.

I'm really into photography and arts. Reading is my natural habitat as well as taking pictures and writing. I carry my Canon wherever I go and I always try to have a project regarding photography and poetry/confessional writing in mind.

And of course I will host if I am available. I live on a student village close to the university campus. I have a private room, and I share kitchen and bathroom with my roomates. So I am not usually able to host so often.

Interests

I like cinema, music, literature and photography. I like going out and walking through the streets, going to bars, talking, learning, visiting museums, approaching to new cultures... I LOOOOOOOOOOVE coffe and to have breakfast at a cozy place, or at home with some tea and chocolate. I love hygge and fika, big scandinavian topics! (Ok, I sound like the crazy lady for scandinavian issues)

• Movies: drama is my passion, biopic too. I like indie films and Terrence Malick movies.
• Series: Mad Men, GoT, SKAM, so on...
• Music: Radiohead, Björk, Nick Cave and Sigur Ros. (And Harry Styles too, but it is a secret, so shhhh...)
• Books: Alice in Wonderland is my bible. You should always ask yourself what Alice would do. She has the answer, believe me. I read a lot, mostly poetry and modern short-stories. Poetry is my constant! Right now, I read Scandinavian authors most of the time. Also, The Unbearable Lightness of Being because I also have issues with Česká.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving away from home took me more time than the expected, but it is never late to follow your dreams. Also, I hicked a mountain during the whole day. Immediately after, I did kajakk for the very first time of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

• Learn about new cultures and languages. I look for untranslatable words, do you know one word of these from your mother tongue? Tell me about it!
• Improve my Norwegian skills
• Hear about different ways to live life and see the world
• Share a good talk, with some beer or a cup of coffee. Good conversations are the one of the best teaching-learning experience
• I like hosting people and usually I can host, but I prefer the option "I want to meet people" :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I created my profile because I like meeting new people and making friends all around the world, and hearing about their experiences as travellers and nomads. Our experiences are the most valuable and enriching thing that we can have! I try to be a good storyteller. I don't know if I achieve that, but I am sure I am a good listener.
