The best answer to that question you'll probably get from the people who know me, but here's a try....

Friendly, very active person that enjoys the company of other people. That's why I spend most of my time at university, libraries, in cafés and basically anyplace where I can get in touch with people. I will pick a nice evening with friends board games and good conversations, maybe with a nice glas of wine, over a night at a club, even though I like to go out dancing every now an then. I'm never bored! I like to get up early and carpe diem. Especially when the sun is shining!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Always like to meet new people, exchange experiences and opinions...get inspired by them, have discussions with them...learn from them....
It's a whole different kind of experiencing a country than by 'normal' travelling.

I haven't done a lot of couch surfing yet but so far I've only stayed with nice generous people and I have very good memories of my time with them.

This is why I would, if it's possible, like to not just couch surf but also host. Sadly, I live in a small apartment and have to sleep on a couch myself, so I can't offer anything but a mattress!

Interests

Travelling, cooking, sports, handcrafts, photography, learning....basically everyhing. My friends always say I have too many hobbies!

In my spare time I cycle a lot, I like going for walks, looking at flea markets or things like that, building furniture or other little items for my flat [mostly from wood]. I make my own mustard and spice or tea mixes. I like repairing things. I enjoy scrap booking, watching movies or listening to audio books whilst flicking through magazines on the couch in the evening. I like going to the movies, watching movies with friends. Dancing and sports at the gym or outside [not much of a jogger, though!]. When the weather is nice I also love to go out for a swim.

I'm up for almost anything! And as long as you're passionate about something, you can get me interested in almost everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies... Woody Allen movies, V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Hatari, In Bruges, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, Red Dragon, Black Swan, Sex and the City.... I enjoy a lot of movies. :-)

Books... anything by Water Moers, The Help, Stieg Larsson Novels, cook books if those count.... I don't read as much as I would like to actually! I listen to Audio Books a lot though. Latest one I heard and enjoyed a lot was "What She Left"

Music...Buena Vista Social Club, Ray Charles, Nena, some "charts" music, System of A Down....Mumford and Sons. I enjoy a lot of styles except for techno/electro/rap, I guess.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make an origami bird from a serviette for example...or how to make very good pizza dough or grissini.

I can share a lot of things! I love sharing stuff. Especially bretzels. As long as I get the nice thick part instead of the crunchy thin parts. I'll let you have some of the thick parts, though. If you ask nicely. Maybe.

Learn? Yes! Teach me some of your language, how to cook a traditional meal from your country, a card trick, a funny dance move, anything really! I'll soak it in like a sponge! If you have any knowledge or philosophy or experience to share, I'm always a good listener as well!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll try to be a nice and easy guest and adapt to your wishes! I'll cook a meal with you or for you if you want to, I'll go get fresh rolls or croissants from the bakery in the morning, if you want to. I'll play board games, I'll listen to your stories, I'll tell you my stories, you name it. A happy host is a good host, I guess!
