Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm Marie, 30 and a full-time student at the University of Derby. I am married with a 9 year old son and all my student loans go on household bills and family needs. I love to get away from it all at the end of each semester for a few days at a time (I don't like to be away from my family for too long) to de-stress and explore and discover predominantly European countries, simply because they're more on my doorstep and I don't have to lose a day travelling. I don't fit the student prototype because I don't enjoy drinking, clubbing and parties. I don't have anything against it, it's just not my thing. I don't mind a swift pint in the pub, or going out to dinner, entertaining with dinner at home with friends... that's more my style.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I love the idea of living like a local, I think it makes travel more authentic. Plus, I like the idea that I can go to stop with someone and not have to worry about spending money on a hotel and equally, it means someone can come and stop in our home and can save on their finances too. It just seems like a really great idea.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really watch TV or films so I don't really know what to put here! I think the last thing I watched was the Lego Movie which I took my son to see a while back, and that was okay.
Books: anything by Freya North, Ernest Hemingway and Robert Galbraith.
What I Can Share with Hosts
