Hi, we are Marieke & Sven. At the moment we are travelling around the world. Holland is our home destination! We lived in Canada 13 months, 1,5 year in Australia and we are still travelling. Marieke works as a teacher on a Primary School for children with special needs. Sven works as a heavy equipment operator. Our hobbies are running, swimming, lots of outdoor activities like diving, paddling and rafting, going out for dinner with friends. We both like photography and like to make videos with the GoPro. We've been in Europe, Canada, 11 States of America incl. Alaska, Hawaï, Australia, Southeast Asia and New Zealand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At Vancouver Island we had our first experience with couchsurfing. It's nice to meet people from all over the world and share our place with others. We know how it feels to travel on a budget. If you like to come to Holland: you are welcome to visit us and we will show you around the touristic highlights! At the moment we are not able to host, because we are travelling around!

Interests

Our hobbies are running, swimming, paddling, diving, rafting, going out for dinner with friends and photography. We like travelling as well ofcourse! We started our 'around the world trip' in June 2015 and we are still travelling..

We wrote two books for Dutch citizens about the working holiday visa in Australia and Canada. How to prepare your trip, what kind of insurance do you need, how to apply for a sin number after arrival, how to open a bankaccount, where to buy a car, how to find work, etc. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with sharks, snorkeling with whalesharks, wreck diving, rafting in Indonesia, abseiling in Vietnam, working and skiing in Revelstoke (BC, Canada), camping with -10 Celsius in Yukon and Alaska, flying hot air balloon in Belgium, we got married on Bali and much more...
