ABOUT ME

Originally from Belgium, I have been living in Montreal, Canada for most of the past 15 years. Recently I came back to Brussels for two months, hopping very unexpectedly on a Christmas market gig - life can be full of surprises.

Now that the market is over, I want to make the most of my presence in Europe to (re)visit places and friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started using Couchsurfing in Vancouver 15 years ago when I first moved abroad. I used it to meet new people who shared my interests and were up to trying the same things. I went to a few events and enjoyed it.

A few years ago, in Montreal then, I was hosting people at my place in Montreal with 4 awesome flatmates who were also Couchsurfers. After that, it was a bit more difficult because the new flatmates were less into that kind of thing and it doesn't work if people are not enthusiastic.

When I was travelling through Southern and East Africa a few years ago, I used Couchsurfing again after feeling a bit tired of hostel vibes. I was hoping to meet locals and gain perspective on local history and cultures. I was hosted by two fantastic Couchsurfers in Tanzania with whom I felt very comfortable.

Music: I listen to so many different genres of music. Artists that I am obsessed with at the moment, to name a few: Hiatus Kaiyote, Sampa the Great, Lianne La Havas, Clara Ysé, Blick Bassy, SAULT, Excavation et Poésie, Teresa Cristina,...

Some movies I love that I can spontaneously think of: Mommy, Thelma and Louise, Kill Bill, Catch me if you can, Little Miss Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, La vita e bella, Requiem for a dream,...
