Hi world! My name is Mariia. I am a 4th year student studying political journalism in Ukraine (not the safest choise in my country, you know). But I like taking risks! Honestly, despite the fact that I am studyng quite serious topics, I am trying to concentrate on exploring myself now. I think that travelling helps me to understand this world and myself in it.
Okay, I see you're already bored because of my reflection :). Let me tell you some practical things about me:
- I like cooking (especially baking cakes, cookies). That means you won't be hungry hosting me.
- I like talking. At first it may seem like I am a bit intraversive person, because I appreciate personal boundaries of other people . But in the same tame I am an outgoing and open person.
- I like walking. I can go miles and miles by foot.

I guess that you can understand other culture better through the communication with people. In this big globalized world it is so important to find, understand and listen to each other. This is what couchsurfing means to me. You know, free couch in the foreign city is a good idea but meeting new people is a much better one.

The last few weeks I can't stop listening to Billi Eilish's songs. I like Ukrainian bands like Hardkiss, Onuka, MARUV, Antytila. Now I prefer alt pop, indie and dream folk like Flora Cash or Bastille.
My number 1 favourite movie is Mr. Nobody with Jared Leto. If you haven't seen it yet - I would force you to do it with me!!! (kidding).
Now I am reading some psychology literature. The last book was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck - not bad :)
