About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep travelling while standing still.

ABOUT ME

I am freshly back from three incredible months in Mexico and Guatemala. I'm back in Toronto, working and returning to school in the fall to do my Masters. I work with an immigrant and refugee rights group here in Toronto called "No one is Illegal", and I am deeply committed to social justice and anti-oppression work, not only in my life as an activist, but in my personal and daily interactions as well.

PHILOSOPHY

"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."
~ Leonard Cohen

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'm living in a shared house and we can host 1-2 people at a time. I met some great folks while I was travelling through CS, and I think that overall this is a great project. But, I must say that I also came accross those who were using it for other reasons, and to them I say, if I wanted a date I'd be on a dating site, that's not what CS is for!

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's talk about this when we meet, okay?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Zocalo in Mexico City fill up with thousands of workers rights' protestors on my first night in the city, an amazing mobilization!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Right now I'm really interested in anti oppression work and developing my skills as a facilitator in that respect... I may have insights to offer as well? I also am learning more and more about issues surrounding immigration in Canada, and our relationship and responsibility to what is happening in other parts of North America and the world.
Also, I am learning about gardening!

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Cuba, France, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
