I (Marina) already had couchsurfing account for many years ago but, I started use this amazing connection tool last year, when we're in New Zealand living there for one year and then as backpackers in Southeast Asia and Israel.

As we're always together and we did couchsurfing, we decided to make two in one. =)

It's impossible to separated this question, we together made the best travel in our life - included work as a horse, do wwoof/workaway, living in a car for 3 months in New Zealand when we were in a road trip; travelling in a smart budgetin Asia and Israel - for 1 year and 8 months.
