Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Marina from Ryazan, Russia. I work as a Customer Success Manager in an IT company. I live with my two lovely cats and have a great passion for traveling and exploring new places. I'm a very open-minded and sociable person, always happy to meet new people.
It's really hard to upset or frustrate me. For example, I managed to stay calm even when I lost my passport during a trip abroad.
In my free time, I enjoy doing sports. I play tennis and squash, go to the gym regularly, and I love running. I'm planning to run a 10 km race in Saint Petersburg on July 5th.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I'd like to meet amazing people from around the globe and fully immerse myself in the culture of each country I visit. I'm looking forward to connecting with open-minded and friendly locals who would like to show me around their hometown or host me for a couple of days.
I'm also open to occasionally hosting guests myself. However, as I currently live with my parents, I'm not always able to offer accommodation. Besides hosting, I'm actively traveling and exploring new places too.
Interests
Besides sports, I really enjoy cooking. I love discovering new baking recipes and treating my loved ones to delicious meals. On weekends, I often relax by watching movies and cartoons.Another hobby of mine is learning languages. A few months before each new trip, I start learning the language of the country I'm going to visit, at least enough to exchange a few words with locals. When traveling, I usually spend a lot of time walking around, exploring new places and tasting local cuisine. I also love meeting local people to learn more about their culture and lifestyle.
Music, Movies, and Books
🎵 Music
I enjoy all kinds of music. After my recent trip to South Korea, I discovered my love for K-pop. Besides that, I enjoy Russian and international pop music, rock, and rap as well.
🎬 Movies & TV Shows
My favorite TV series are "Mr. Robot", "The Handmaid's Tale", and "Grey's Anatomy". I'm also a big fan of Disney cartoons, with "Frozen" being my all-time favorite.
📚 Books
I rarely read books, so I can't really say that I have favorite authors or books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I donated my blood more than 40 times!
Teach, Learn, Share
If anyone finds it useful, I'd be happy to share my knowledge in marketing. I'm also always open to conversations about psychology and traveling.
As for what I'd like to learn, I'm curious about cultural differences. I enjoy exploring how people from different countries think, live, and perceive the world. For example, it was fascinating for me to discuss how young people in Korea live, why it's challenging for them to own property nowadays, and why birthrates are declining.
Many countries face similar issues, and I truly enjoy exchanging thoughts and opinions on these topics with others.
