Hi!

I'm Mario (25) from Germany, and after my first two years of living the 9-5 office life, I've decided that it's enough for now and set myself the goal to cycle from Germany to Singapore! This is quite ambitious since I've never been on a cycle trip that was more than two days long, but I have a chill mindset of how far I will get. As I'm writing this, I'm planning to start my trip next week, and the plan is to be on tour from March 2026 to March 2027.

A little bit about myself: I studied Media Production and Filmmaking and worked as a video editor and camera operator for the past two years. So, naturally, I'm into that kind of stuff and also seizing the opportunity to make a film out of my trip (like everyone does nowadays I guess haha). I also fly FPV drones. Other than that, I love music, played drums in a pop-punk band before I left Germany and also do play some other instruments - if you have any around, I'm always down for a jam! I also do magic for fun and enjoy fooling people with some card tricks :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to try couch surfing for a long time but it never really matched that well with my trips while I was working, but now that I'm a full time traveller again I'm hoping to meet some nice people on my trip through Couchsurfing. I'm not only looking for a free place to stay - I want to meet new people, hang out and do stuff together, share stories etc. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I love Pop Punk and Alternative Rock! :D My favorite bands are Billy Talent, Rise Against, Paramore, Pierce The Veil, All Time Low, You Me At Six and a lot more. Other than that, I don't mind other genres of music except for Techno and German Schlager.

Movies:
In general I like Thrillers, Mystery and Science Fiction, but almost anything else will do as well. Some of my favorite movies are Inception, Tenet, Don't Look Up, Victoria and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and I'm also a big fan of Black Mirror.

Books:
Science Fiction and Fantasy! I recently read The Hunger Games and loved it, and other than that some of my favorites are The Swarm, The Tapestry, Harry Potter, Eragon and To Sleep In A Sea Of Stars. However, I don't really read as much as I used to, should probably change that 😾

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After graduating from High School, I spent one year in Canada to do Work and Travel, which was a very good decision! I really learned a lot about life during that time. Also, quitting my job recently was pretty amazing haha

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very passionate about music and play Drums, Piano and Ukulele (and a bit of Guitar), so if you want to make some music together I'm always down to do so! Also, I can (try to) blow your mind with magic tricks and even teach you some if you like, as well as other stuff like juggling or penspinning. Furthermore, I enjoy cooking and baking, so doing that together and share recipes would be a nice activity :) I also love playing spike ball and frisbee or going for a dip in a cold lake in winter if possible :D
