About Me

Hey! I'm Mario, an Italian guy traveling solo to discover new cities, people, and cultures. I love authentic experiences, wandering around aimlessly, trying local food, and getting lost in conversations with people who actually live in the places I visit.

✨ I'm respectful, clean, curious, and independent. I can cook (yes, pasta! 🍝), help around the house, or teach you a few words in Italian. I'm easygoing and open-minded — I enjoy deep chats over a beer or coffee, but I'm also comfortable doing my own thing.

🌍 I'm traveling on a budget, both by choice and necessity, and I see Couchsurfing as the best way to truly get to know a place — not just from a tourist's perspective, but through the eyes of locals.

🚶‍♂️Right now, I'm exploring the Netherlands and Belgium for a few days, and I'd love to stay with someone open to sharing a bit of time, stories, or even just a local tip or two.

Thanks for reading! Hope to meet you 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because hotels have walls, but Couchsurfing has stories.
I’m not just looking for a free place to sleep — I’m here for connection, cultural exchange, and those random conversations at 2AM that somehow change your perspective on life.
Also, I truly believe that the best travel tips don’t come from guidebooks, but from kitchens, coffee tables, and living rooms.

Music, Movies, and Books

🎵 Music:
I like a bit of everything — no shame, full vibes. From traditional folk to reggaeton, from Ludovico Einaudi's emotional piano to 50 Cent's “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” energy. I can vibe to a sad ballad and two minutes later be twerking to Bad Bunny. My playlists are pure chaos, but they work.

🎬 Movies & Series:
I go from deep and cinematic to trashy and ridiculous with no in-between.
I love cult films like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Godfather, The Shining, and The Pursuit of Happyness.
But I’ll also happily binge-watch trashy reality shows, quirky comedies, twisted horror or dark thrillers. Anything that makes me feel something (or makes me laugh at 2am with chips in hand).

📚 Books:
I grew up with the magical world of Harry Potter (who didn’t?), but my shelves are also haunted by Kafka, Dostoevsky, Irvine Welsh, and Saramago.
I love writers who mess with your head or your heart. If a book disturbs me, inspires me, or makes me stay up all night — it's my kind of book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once organized a trip to Jordan in one night — just bought a plane ticket on a whim, then started convincing others to join me one by one. Eventually, we became a squad of four wonderfully weird humans, all very different, traveling together through surreal adventures:
Sleeping under the stars in the Wadi Rum desert, being hosted by a Bedouin in Petra, and singing songs around a fire in a nature reserve with strangers-turned-friends from all over the world, sharing tea like it was the most sacred ritual.
Honestly? Best spontaneous mess I’ve ever created.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you some Italian (including the hand gestures), how to cook pasta al dente, or how to order coffee like a true local in Italy without getting the tourist version.

Learn: I'm curious about everything — new languages, hidden spots in your city, weird local customs, or even your grandma’s secret recipe.

Share: Stories, music, playlists, food, laughs, random facts, and good vibes

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, a curious mind, a respectful presence, and a decent attempt at making coffee in the morning.
I’ll share my time, my stories, some home-cooked Italian food if we’re feeling hungry, and I’ll definitely do the dishes! I also bring good playlists and am always up for a late-night chat or spontaneous adventure.
