About Me

Writing a book about the experiences I had while walking across America to raise money for St.Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Between 2012 and 2013 I spent 17 months walking across America to raise money for St.Jude Children's Research Hospital. The journey took me through 23 states and Washington D.C. When I'm not writing I like to play music, go to the movies, veg-out at the beach, and volunteer. People seem to describe me as quiet and easy going. Although I have been known to get chatty.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's great to share experiences with members of the Couchsurfing community, especially with those that haven't traveled much or are visiting from other countries. The Couchsurfing community is so diverse communicating and interacting with it's members opens up one's mind to how people live not only in other parts of the world but in the U.S. as well.

Being a part of the Couchsurfing community has made me a more open-minded person; I'm grateful to all the people her who I have met and have enriched my life and become friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie - Where does one begin? I like movies from all genres whether they be silent films, big budget summer blockbusters or micro budget student/independent films. I just like seeing how people tell stories the medium of film.

Music - This is another one of those things where I tend to like a lot of different styles. I know a lot of people say this but it's true. I listen to everything from death metal to classical.

Books - When I used to read classic sci-fi and horror novels. My favorites are Frankenstein and Interview With The Vampire. The most recent book I read--and the first book I bought in 13 yeas--is Shoe Dog by Phil Knight (founder of Nike).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raising $13,000 for St.Jude Children's Research Hospital by walking across America.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spend the last several years discovering new things about myself. If I could teach one thing to others it would be to learn how to love yourself and the importance of doing good for others. What I have to share with the community here is the experiences I had on the road and how it changed me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I have to share are my experiences and helping others understand the value of being a member of the Couchsurfing community. As members we have the opportunity to bring people, from all walks of life, together.
