ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Marion. I was born in the States, but grew up in Taiwan until I was 10. After that I moved back to my native country of Norway (close to the fjords; by the sea) and in September 2012 I'm moving to Brittany, France.

People tend to describe me as friendly and funny. I'm open to people from all kinds of cultures, social and really like meeting new people. Sometimes I can be feisty and stubborn, but I also love to try new things, so more often than not people won't see my independent streak :)

In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, do sports activities, read, watch films and bake/cook. I'm from the fjords and love mountain hiking, foraging and all kinds of outdoor activities. But most of all I enjoy gymnastics and photography. I've been really into photography for a few years now and I snap pictures everywhere I am at any time. I also love editing them afterwards.

Oh... and I don't smoke :)

Movies: The Lord of the Rings, Ice Age, Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, Diarios de motocicleta, Tropa de Elite, (the old) Star Wars, Goodbye Lenin, Das Leben der Anderen, La vie en rose, Poirot, Gladiator and any movie from the 40s and 50s (especially with Audrey Hepburn).

Books: Anything from Colin Thubron, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Lord of the Rings, 1000 Years of Annoying the French, Perfume, Name of the Rose, An Utterly Impartial History of Britain (or 2000 years of upper-class snobs in charge) and many, many others...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken the Trans-Mongolian train from Moscow via Siberia and Mongolia to Beijing.

Worked for the United Nations in New York before travelling around the East Coast and Canada, where I sat and watched the Niagara Falls illuminated at night.

Hitchhiked in Palestine to get to the Dead Sea. Also sneaked my way to the Lebanese border, after flirting with an Israeli soldier. It was illegal.
