About Me

mmmh let's see, I go jogging at dawn by the river and look at the sky changing colors (hoping not to bump into something), I'm addicted to chocolate, I can walk the narrow streets of a city for hours and always find my way back, I never put milk in my cereals (if you do that I can explain you how you are being wrong), I can spend hours looking at the ocean, I love to sit outside with good beer and good company, and... well, many other things. I guess. Let's talk so you can find out :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel. But I hate to be "a tourist", the ones you can so easily spot, holding maps, wearing sunglasses and eating in the fancy places their guidebooks recommand. I'm trying to blend in and live the local experience, or at least get as close as I can to it. How can I participate in the CS ? I'm just hoping to meet new people and have interesting talks, share about our experiences, about the random things that make life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed on a few couches before while travelling in Europe and had people staying at my place when I lived in Paris. Now after several months of travelling I'm settling down in Strasbourg and can host people again.

I have been doing quite a lot of disorganised couchsurfing, I mean it happened several time during my trips that I would meet random people and, one thing leading to another, end up having dinner, going to a bar or even sometimes sleeping at his place and visiting his family, and that was the most enjoyable way to travel. Once in Japan I started talking to an old woman in the bus and she took me to her mother's farm where I helped them picking rice and they made for me the most delicious food ever... and all that was simply the result of two persons meeting and being interested in each other. I got to see so many things I wouldn't have had a chance to have a look at if I had just stayed in a hotel. II would simply love to have this kind of chance again - it's okay if you don't take me to a farm though ;) I'm not expecting anything, I'm just really looking forward to meeting people.

Interests

I'm interested in everything :) Most of the time I'm a quiet person, I stay in bed for hours with a good book, and sometimes I'll just take the first train to anywhere and spend the whole day out. I love hiking and kayaking. I love to cook too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a bit of everything. I read a bit of everything. I'm very interested in science, even though my school and uni background is everything but close to science.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I slept with nomads in the Wadi Rum desert and an 8 years orl girl taught me how to milk a goat. I saw the sun rising on the Himalayas. I went to the third biggest dinosaur museum in the world (it was awesome. I love dinosaurs ^^) I saw one week old twin baby pandas and fed them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let's start talking and if we can feel a good vibration, I would be happy to tell you about my travels, about the people I met, about what I believe in... and I'm really hoping that you can share very random stuff with me too :) Very often I find that the CS encounters only turn out to be simple cultural exchanges (oh they do that in your country ? in my country it's like that... blabla) and though it's not uninteresting, my best memories are with the people I shared the most random and non-cultural laughs with :) I met a few very good friends via CS.
