ABOUT ME

Well, I am making this profile on a whim. I have never couch surfed before, but I'm in dire need of a place to crash for a music festival, so I figured I might as well give it a chance. Lots of my friends have had good experiences on here so I wanted to try it.

As you can already tell I have a deep love for music. It heals the soul when nothing else can and allows to me dance so long and hard that my body feels like it's on the edge of busting apart. And yes, I see this as a good feeling haha. So yeah, music, it's my ultimate de-stressor.

I love meeting new people. My friend once described me to his sister saying, "You know how there's sociopaths? Well, Marissa is a socialopath. She is the most social person I have ever met in my life." I obviously took this as a compliment.

I tend to have a way of opening people up. I could sit for hours talking to a stranger and by the end of it I will know their entire life story; their hopes and dreams, their secrets, their successes, their failures and what and who they love and hate. I try hard to not judge a book by it's cover. You really don't know who someone is until you sit down and listen to the experiences that made them the person who sits before you now.

So now that I got the deep talks out of the way... I am a 25 year old college graduate still trying to figure out what it is I am supposed to do; and actually enjoy doing. I live in Albany,the capital of New york, in a small, but cozy apartment with my new roommate Mike. Mike is a massage therapist, obviously this gave him brownie points when I was looking for roommates. I love music, as does he. I love art. Sometimes I paint. I love animals. They are simply the best. I don't get people that don't like animals. I am always late. Boredom is my arch nemesis, and I tend to always be on the go. I am super laid back;life's too short to sweat the small shit. I"m not much of a planner, but I've realized that the best times I've had were usually unplanned. An optimist at heart. I love my friends and my family dearly. I love nature and all it's beauty. I get along with most everyone. That is, unless you give me sass, because then I will definitely give you some sass back.

So to make a long story short. Yes, I realize I am somewhat long winded,,but moving on, I am a chill girl trying to travel more and meet some nice and fun people along the journey.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short and precious. I don't want to be the old person on their death bed saying, "Damn I wish I went to Europe, or I wish I saw the White House, etc.." I believe that if I do have regrets at the end of life, it will be about the things I never tried or never did, or the places I never went. I don't think it will be the mistakes I made along with way. According to Physics scholars, reality is an illusion. It is what you make it. So if you're having a shitty day, just remind yourself of that fact.

On your journey of living life to the fullest, remind yourself not to take it too seriously, remember to be treat others the way you want to be treated, be a good person, stick up for what you believe in, have fun, feel good, and remember, tomorrow is a new day!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I just went to California for the first time with my friend in April. We stayed in San Francisco, saw Napa, went to a friends baby shower in Yuba Ciy, then drove down Highway 1 to Santa Cruz. We stayed with my friend Josh from high school at this semi commune place called Bean Creek. Some people lived in the house, some were passing through. They were so wonderful and amazing though! They showed us a great time. We drove down the coast to Big Sur. I have never been in awe of such beauty in my life. California stole my heart, and now I'm just waiting to explore the rest of her.
