If you are interested to enjoy Perú with low budget i recommend you to visit Junín(Non Cusco, Arequipa as usual)
WHY JUNIN?
1- It has many options to visit like jungle, andean mountains, alternative medicine, mysticism, traditional costumes and warm people.
2- As a first stop you can take a bus from Lima to Huancayo (8 hours), stay in a hostel in the center, take a tour trekking to mountains of Huaytapallana with ligth blue lakes and beatifull view of "cordillera de los andes" already 7 hours walking to go and return. ( Also you can rest in my home of this city, just ask me the date that you are interested normally on weekends)
3- Mysticism and espirituality, your life with coca readings or candles in the village chongos, andean stories, traditional rituals, connection with angels to heal different deseases and emotional problems, these are in different villages of Huancayo.
4- Second Stop, from Huancayo take a bus or minivan to city La Merced this belong to Central jungle or Selva central of Perú, just three hours from Huancayo, there are many tours trekking oin the jungle, visit one of the most beatifull waterfall "velo de la novia", share some customs with communities, nigth excursion, also there are some tours until Oxapampa the main producer of dairy products and livestock with higth quality, beatifull green mountains and rivers, enjoy traditional dishes with meat and banana sooo Yumi, as well vengan people can find a lot of fruits easily :)
5- Share costumes with community, traditional parties, local art, handmade souvenirs and more.
6. Our home is free for couchsurfers on weekend or holydays, it is located in a calm, quite and small village "San Agustín of cajas" just 20 minutes of the center of Huancayo the main city of Junín, i will depart from Lima twice a month with some couchsurfers to continue exploring the potential attraction of this region.
The couchsurfers invited will enjoy go to the mountains, rivers, lakes, green fields, eucalypto trees, harvest some vegetables of our farm, explore new rutes of trekking and Mountainbiking Yeehhh!
We love to share our costumes and experiences, our home is simple but well localed, you can go to "Obraje" just some minutes walking from our home, walk around the forest and enjoy best view of the village, the blue sky and big clouds like cotton, rainbown and pure nature, also you can find some local stores and restaurants .
