I recently finished my master's studies in History at the University of Augsburg, Germany. Right now I am on a 4 months South East Asia and India roundtrip together with my girlfriend Alexandra. So our life consists of travelling completely at the moment, which is great. We are trying to have a good combination of city 'sightseeing', trekking in nature and relaxing on the beach on our journey. But the most important thing is to take our time for getting to know country and people.

After the trip I will take up my PhD program in History. My dissertation most probably will be concerned with Southern Germany in the sixteenth century. Alex will take up her master's program in Architecture again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first time couchsurfing was in the end of November 2012 in Wroclaw (Poland), which was truly a great experience.

- Rock music
- Writing about music (for a German music webzine)
- Reading books
- discovering the history and culture of cities I visit

Music, Movies, and Books

- Music: Heavy Metal, Rock, Progressive Rock
- Movies: Various stuff, though I really enjoy the work of David Lynch: Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway are definitely among my favorites :)
- Books: As mentioned above: History books work best for me, since I like the stories told there much more than the ones that authors dream up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Two days of stunning sunsets on the beach of Visby, Gotland (Sweden)
- Driving towards the mountains of Meteora (Greece) for the first time
- Castel Sant'Angelo at night
