ABOUT ME
I have an open-minded and laid-back personality. I enjoy exploring the city and have insider knowledge of its best spots. Although I studied medical school in Bucharest for four years, I decided to switch to IT and also have experience working in hospitality. Previously, I owned a hostel called The Midland Hostel in Bucharest, but due to the pandemic, I had to close it down. Currently, I work remotely in IT from Brasov, which is my new hometown. My interests include music, books, science, hitchhiking, travel, communist discussions, abandoned buildings, film photography, and much more. I am excited to have diverse conversations with you, as there is much to discuss in a short amount of time. I hope we get along well! :-)
PHILOSOPHY
Make your life simple and stress-free, but put in dedicated effort towards your work, while also taking time to enjoy and have fun.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am happy to offer my place to anyone who wishes to meet me, and in exchange, I would like to hear about their CS/travel experience and exchange our couches.
Additionally, I have a unique hobby of collecting beer cans and would love to have a can label from every country in the world. If you decide to stay at my place, please bring a full beer with you so we can enjoy it together. :)
Due to the high volume of requests, I kindly request that you add a sentence to your message using the following words: beer, communism, gopnik, Dacia, and security, so I know you have read through my profile.
I have been doing CS since 2012 and been working in hostel industry since 2014, meeting lots and lots of people and attended various CS meetings in different cities.
In 2017, I had the opportunity to own my own hostel in Bucharest, called The Midland Hostel, which was unfortunately affected by the pandemic.
Currently, I work remotely in Brasov in IT, but in my free time, I offer guided trips to remote locations, including villages, forests, mountain hikes and so on, and conduct analogue photography workshops.
I believe analogue photography provides a deeper understanding of light and exposure and offers a unique thrill in making your own prints.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had the pleasure of hosting people from various countries, such as Portugal, Turkey, Poland, Belgium, France, Lithuania, Pakistan, Germany, Brazil, and many more.
Additionally, I have surfed extensively throughout Europe, Northern Africa, and Central Asia.
Interests
I am always open to meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and experiencing new customs and habits. Anything that is new and unfamiliar is exciting to me.
Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I enjoy genres such as psychedelic, indie, alternative, chill-out, and meditative.
As for books, I am particularly interested in psychology, travel journals, history and science.
When it comes to movies, I am a fan of Woody Allen and Tarantino films, as well as historical-based movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would prefer to share that with you in person.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that everyone has something valuable to share, and I would be delighted to meet and learn from them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a lot to offer, from sharing local knowledge such as how to swear in Romanian 😅, to exploring the city, sneaking into abandoned buildings, discovering hidden gems, teaching some photography tips and experiencing the pub life.
Additionally, I enjoy cooking traditional Romanian dishes and would be happy to share my knowledge and teach others how to make them.
I have a great love for my country, and I strive to share both the good and the bad in a lighthearted and humorous way.
