ABOUT ME

I lived in Venezuela until 2010, when I decided to look for some opportunities outside my country because of the political/economical situation there. That's how I came to Portugal, and I've been here so far. Here I have had the opportunity to develop myself academically and professionally, and I have been able to meet people from around the world, which has been an amazing experience.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy would have to be... Try hard to do/work on what you really enjoy and on what you're good at. But do not complain if you have to live, work or do some things that maybe in a moment you feel that are far from your goals, because it's never easy to reach your goals. You just have to keep the faith on yourself and never quit!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with my boyfriend in Covilhã, a small town in the center-east region of Portugal, and we can offer a double airbed to sleep and the bathroom and kitchen when needed. Also, during week nights and weekends we are able to serve as tour guides around the town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new here, and even thought we've never had strangers at home from CouchSurfing, we've received lots of our friends here, most of them we have met here in Covilha, from several countries: Greece, Spain, Colombia, Italia, and of course, Portugal! I guess that because of being foreigners outside from our country, we really enjoy sharing and helping other foreigners as well, and we really enjoy it!

Interests

I enjoy traveling, reading, watching movies, going to the beach, which here I can only do it during summers but in my country, since has a part of the Caribbean, I used to go the entire year... I'm enjoying my studies and my life here in Portugal, since I believe it has helped me a lot to learn about not only the Portuguese culture but the European in general, and all this cultural exchange has allowed me to grow up as a person. I love to learn about other cultures, that's why I'm always interested in learning languages. I'm about to start learning french, or german, haven't decided yet, and I hope to learn many more!

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually when I listen to music or watch a movie, I just want to relax, that's why I like the simplest choices, such as comedies, action movies and animated films. I love must of the Pixar studios' works, I like pop music in general... About books, I'm a Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings fan, also I enjoy reading Latin American books, such as those from Gabriel García Márquez, Julio Cortázar, Jorge Luis Borges, among others. Also I like Oscar Wilde and Edgar Allan Poe books, but in general, I enjoy reading about everything, sometimes I read science stuffs, some others just girly magazines, it depends on the mood.
