Hi, my name is Marjolijn and I'm really excited about travelling with Couchsurfing. It has been on my bucketlist, but never got a chance. I quess now is the right time! I have lived in the Netherlands for all my life but I have travelled quite a lot. Not only before I had my kids, but also with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What I like most about travelling is learning about new cultures, enjoying nature and ofcource also meeting new people. I find travellers open, curious and positive minded people. People who open their house for other strangers must be the same I think. So I'm looking forward to mingle with you!
Now my kids are bigger (17 and 13 yo) it is time for me to go on adventures myself, so here I am!
My kids are at my place every other week. My house is open when they are not here. But when you are open for it, you can also stay when they are here. They are well travelled and comfortable with new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like funk, rock, blues and soul. But I also like loungemusic or house on a festival. I prefer 'light' movies but sometimes I like an action movie. But the movie has to have a good ending!
I also love to read books. I like stories that happened in earlier years what can teach me about how things were in those days and why people did what they did. Think about stories in the middle east or about slavery or the second world war.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a two month trip to Panama, Costa Rica and Guatemala with my two kids. I stayed in the Morroccan desert in wintertime!
