Hello!

My name is Marjorie, but I go by my middle name, Beth. I am a happily married Mamaw who wants to do nothing more than spend time with my grandchildren and see the world. I am very active and love to workout, play pickle ball and ride my Peloton. I volunteer with the USO and spent 8 years volunteering with the Sonoma County wildlife rescue. When I'm not working out, I'm hanging out with my husband and our cats watching Survivor Australia or Yellowstone while surfing the web researching our next trip. To keep me busy while I wait for my husband to retire I'm a part time family manager. The family that I take care of have 2 boys who are 10 and 12 and a very cute Cavapoo named Luna. I look forward to connecting with you =)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I want to see as much of the world as I can. Before Covid I had the goal of visiting 50 countries before my 50th birthday. Since that didn't happen I have a new goal of visiting 60 countries before my 60th birthday. I read a book about a traveler who used Couchsurfing and decided to join. I think it would be fun to host people from other parts of the world and stay with people who love travel as much as I do.

My favorite band at the moment is Shinedown. Some of my favorite artists include Garth Brooks, Imagine Dragons, Huey Lewis, Mark Wills, Black Eyed Peas, Faith No More, Travis Tritt, Fun, Scorpions, Trisha Yearwood, Motley Crue, and Three Days Grace.
As for movies I love a good thriller. I also enjoy a good chick flick and just about any movie that stars a dog. Some of my favorites include Steal Magnolias, The Last Boy Scout, Love Actually, For the Love of the Game, Marley&Me, Trouble With the Curve. My favorite actor is Kevin Costner and my favorite actress is Sandra Bullock.
I recently started reading again. I used to enjoy a good mystery or crime thriller. Some of my favorite authors were J.A. Jance, John Grisham, Sue Grafton, James Patterson, and Janet Evanovich. These days I just pull up my Libby app and read whatever grabs my fancy. I'm finally on book 5 of Game of Thrones and I think I'm going to be really upset that there isn't a book 6 yet. (FINALLY finished book 5 and yes, I really don't like that there is closure!!) I really enjoyed a book called Leopard at the Door and a trilogy by Nora Roberts.

A willing ear to listen and learn about the culture of the place I am visiting. As a family manager it's second nature to help around the house. I'm always willing to do the dishes. While I'm not the best cook, I'm great at prepping food and following directions.
