ABOUT ME

My name is Marjoris Regus. I am 29 years old and a doctoral student at the University of Michigan studying music education! I was a high school music teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah for 4 years before relocating to Michigan. I have a masters of Music degree in saxophone performance and a bachelors in music education, both from the University of Utah! I am originally from New Jersey, nearest Seaside Heights. I enjoy trying new foods, traveling, cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. I love meeting new people and hope I can make your visit in Ann Arbor a pleasant one!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

In 2013 I traveled to Southeast Asia. While in Bangkok for the first time, I had no idea where I was going. I was meeting up with a friend that evening and arrived into town at 4:00AM. For those of you who have been to Bangkok, Thailand, it is a city that "never turns off". Even during the wee hours of the morning, there was so much chaos. Panicking, I thought the best idea was to get back on the bus and return to my original place of stay. It wasn't until I remembered I had an emergency contact. This was a person I had never met. The only connection we had was our similar faiths. In a moment of desperation, I decided to Facebook message this young man explaining my situation and that I needed a place to stay. Within 30 minutes, he responded and said okay! Their kindness and generosity has given me the want and desire to give back. Without their help, I would have never enjoyed my stay in Bangkok as much as I did :)
