I live in Wellington with my partner Ross. I'm a photographer and writer as well as working part-time as a medical doctor. I've got two children who stay with us some weekends. I enjoy discovering new places and hearing people's stories. Life is made richer by the connections we share with others.

I love travelling and the experience is always so much deeper when I get to meet people. We enjoy having people stay in our home and have met many wonderful and interesting people (my partner is Ross Scott - our Couchsurfer guests are under his profile).

If you would like to stay with us, please give some indication that you've read my profile - we're welcoming people to our home, and like to share that with them, but we're not a hostel or a last-minute crash pad.

In 2017 I took my mother - who was 78 - back to her homeland, the Republic of Latvia. She'd left as a child in 1944 at the end of the Second World War and had only been back once before. She'd never known her father, but we managed to find his citizenship file in the national archives. The trip was an incredible experience of healing and homecoming.
