Overview
About Me
I'm 25 and just finished grad school in chemistry. In general I love technical things (radios, chemistry, NASA and ESAs work). My dream would be to design and build an energy efficient house and have my own garden and machine shop.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A country is not just the architecture and music - it's the people. I reckon couchsurfing is a great way to meet the people and understand the country more.
Interests
I like pretty much all things technical and crafty. I studied chemistry and engineering and like making things (electrical, mechanical). I've also become interested in radio technology - different antennas, transmitters and receivers but my experience is mostly theoretical at this point.
I enjoy languages and etymology but have only studied French and Russian formally (besides, using them is the best way to learn).

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: odds and ends ... folk mostly, alternative. Avett Brothers, Our Lady Peace
Movies & TV: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Community, Firefly, District 9, Cabin in the Woods
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sleeping in a snow dome in northern Ontario in the winter!
Also, hiking in Colorado with one of the worlds foremost Li-ion battery researchers.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not a good cook and can only fluently speak English (a bit of French and German). The only things I can reliably teach are technical things; how things work, about chemistry, space craft. You name it, I'll try. I know a bit of linguistic history and some broad human history.
Learn: I'd love to try learning a bit of whatever language you speak or about the area (whatever you're willing to share).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Probably some tips about bike touring and anything I mentioned in the "teach" section.
