About Me

I have traveled quite a bit within the United States and some abroad and came to realize I'm spending way too much money just to sleep. When I travel to other countries, I like to stay in hostels or AirBnB mostly. I have yet to try CS though. I’ve hosted a few times but never stayed anywhere.

I'm a super simple type of guy who mainly just goes out to socialize and have a few beers. I usually have my golden retriever named Ollie with me, but not always.

Looking for friendly places to crash and people to socialize with when traveling. I get along with everyone. I can either just use your parking spot and hang in the van, or if you have a cozy place inside, that’s great too. I’d be glad to show you my converted cab (partially). It’s great for 3-4 day trips for sure.

Bonus if you have a fenced in yard for my dog. He’s house trained and super friendly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to socialize when I travel solo. I enjoy chatting about travel experiences or work or politics or anything else. I'm also looking for travel affordably so I can do this more often.

I would love to meet friends and explore together. When I move back to my main place in the DC area, I would love to start hosting (August 2021).

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentaries and science. Machine learning books. I'm TERRIBLE with music. You can control the radio for sure!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped out of a boat in the middle of the night in the country of Colombia to swim with the glow in the dark plankton. It reminded me of an underwater aurora borealis. We were all a bit tipsy and didn't need life jackets - oops! Fun times!

Teach, Learn, Share

I actually love to teach anything I know the subject on. I have a lot of stories about my Colombia trips I can share. I can actually teach some programming or about the software lifecycle or contracting but then you would end up falling asleep.

I can also teach you how to skateboard. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Traveling stories. Friendship. Networking opportunities.
