I'm Mark. I'm a college student currently finishing up my second year at Warren Wilson College where I expect to graduate in May of 2018 with a degree in Anthropology.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like being able to travel and make new connections wherever I go. I'm hoping that this will be able to not only provide me with a place to stay for a few nights here and there, but also with some new friends.

Interests

There isn't really much that I don't find interesting. I like reading, watching all sorts of TV shows and movies, playing and making video games.

I'm very heavily interested in the world of technology and its developments. The college that I go to is a work college where we're required to work 15 hours/week. I work on the schools IT Services crew where I help maintain the campus network, do technical repairs on desktops/laptops/smartphones/tablets, and troubleshoot just about any possible issue that you could find on a computer.

Whenever I'm not inside at work, I like running, hiking, biking, and practicing parkour/freerunning to keep fit (and also have some fun every now and then). I also enjoy playing music on just about any instrument I can get my hands on. My main two instruments right now are piano and guitar, but I'm always willing to learn a new instrument.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like pretty much any sort of music. If I had to pick a genre that I don't like as much as others I guess that would have to be country. Other than that, I listen to just about everything else like rock, rap/hip-hop, electronica/dubstep/trap, classical, pop, and basically any other genre I can find.

As far as movies go, I'm a big fan of sci-fi movies, especially ones that really mess with your head and play with current theories. Some of my favorites are Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Martian. I like pretty much any movies directed by Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, or Tim Burton.

Right now I'm really hooked on A Song of Ice and Fire. I figured I'd read the books before I started watching Game of Thrones. Other than that, I've also been working through a lot of H.P. Lovecraft's works. I haven't read as much lately, but I'm always open to suggestions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm willing to help out around the house in any way I can. I can do technological repairs (computers, tablets, smartphones, small appliances), yard work, house cleaning, cooking, minor home repair. If there's something you need done, I can get it done for you.
Like I said, I'm good with technology, I'm fluent in spanish and can help translate if you need it. Basically, anything you need, I'll do it. I might need to be taught how to do it for certain tasks, but I'm a fast learner.
