About Me

CURRENT MISSION

contribute to make couchsurfing work for others and ourselves

ABOUT ME

mark was born in germany and held onto the workethic, but not the spiessbuergertum, then moved to the USofA at the age of fourteen and became a proper melting pot mutt.. then sudied art in eastern Europe picking up quite a bag of tricks. When Bush (the minor) took office for the second time Mark made good on his word and left the Us with little more than his backpack and easel and headed down to mexico to paint landscapes.. six years later he has got a cute rented house, pottery and painting studio and the sweetest new bride, the two of them have really fun barbecues in the little back yard.

PHILOSOPHY

benevolent non interferrence

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

though we love to make new friends we are not neccessarily looking for very close new relationships through couchsurfing.. we just love to travel and love to give others a free place to sleep so they can explore the world and make travel a less commercial experience..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During gradschool i lived in Cooperative housing in Madison, WI

Interests

Paint, Draw, throw pots, ride my bike and dance tango. soak up culture in the form of food and drink and endless hours in museums.. my wife studies music from a social standpoint and we both like to spend our time and what little we have in funds on getting to know this beautiful planet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have had the chance to see and do a LOT, thank goodness i don´t have to choose..

Teach, Learn, Share

Now that we are in our fourties, we are living a very quiet version of the Bohemian life, while traveling we preferr museums to bars and at home we seek out a milonga rather than a boozesoaked party.. we will gladly share a cup of wine and conversation in the evening if time permits, but will pretty much leave surfers to find their own adventures..

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belize, Canada, Guatemala, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Mexico, Slovakia, United States
