Friendly laid back, easy going guy. I'm half british, half dutch, I have lived in london for 10 years and am always happy to show people the sights! I'm slightly geeky and slightly creative and like people from most walks of life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined a while ago then didn't use this site for a long time, but no I'm back. I occasionally go to the london meetings and may be able to house the odd stray in the future :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted more than I've surfed and met interesting people! I dislike discussing CS politics, I enjoy meeting the people on it.

兴趣

If I could I'd spend a lot more of my life snowboarding, I'm happiest when I'm on top of a tree filled hill with an untracked slope of powder below me. Granted this doesn't happen that often, especially in london, but I make do with going to gigs when I can and enjoying the capitals great live music scene, and exploring the hidden bars and cocktail clubs round the east end with my friends. I'm also fairly keen on sketching (usually use pen these days but used to be a fan of pencil sketches) and attend and run life drawing classes every once in a while.

Music?

Either get up and go music that I can be active to like:
Murder City Devils, Flogging Molly, John Spencers Blues Explosion, Faith No More, Foo Fighters, Jurassic Five, The Clash, The Pogues.

Or chillout music to unwind to like:
Mojave 3, Mazzy Star, Cat Power, Godspeed You Black Emperor.

Also a fair bit of folk and blues.

Books?
I got brought up on a diet of 60ies Sci Fi and fiction by inheriting my dads book collection. Ray Bradbury cannot be overrated, Iain Banks is also great and JG Ballard is strange and wonderful. I also like a few classical authors, Poe, Browning, Eliot etc, but dont read them so often these days

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Hiked up to the top of Mount Fernie in canada, watched a thunderstorm roll in over the horizon and rode an avalanche back down.

Watched sunrise near a campsite in Canyonlands national park, while everyone else was asleep apart from a native american guitar player who was on the next rock over playing in the dawn.

Heard a shooting star. Everyone has seen one but this one fizzed and crackled and looked like it landed in the next valley over. Am 90% sure it wasn't the effect of canadian moonshine.

Seen glowworms in the moonlight on durdle door beach with the girl I love.
