ABOUT ME

I'm a writer and a traveler and a tree enthusiast. I've taken a pause in my scientific career to explore some of the more social aspects to outdoor life, namely guiding. I love being myself, learning about the world from the different people and cultures I meet, and making friends wherever I go. I love water -- especially floating on top of it on boats, canoes, and boards.

I seek to live in harmony with all things: with other humans, with our Mother Earth, with God, and with myself.

I surf and look for new friends in my town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My sleeping bag and I have caught couch-waves from Chicago to California to Mexico to Madagascar, and now I'm looking to expand operations farther east and south.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Madagascar planting fruit trees for a while, and the lemurs used to jump on my tent to wake me up in the mornings.

Also! Last summer I led a trip down the entire Mississippi River -- two months of bliss!
