About Me
Hello couchsurfers!
I currently cycling my bicycle (pushie for the Aussies out there) around Australia, mostly camping in the bush and occasionally staying in cities for a few days at a time. I also use Warm Showers (a cyclist specific version of couchsurfing, hence why my activity on here is rather bleak).
Prior to this cycle tour I lived in the French Alps for three ski seasons (ohhhh how I miss that white fluffy frozen water!). I have some fun tales to tell from encountering brown bears in Slovenia to 'weddings' in Uzbekistan. You'll find me very easy going and willing to muck in with cooking etc. I'm not high maintenance at all. A pitch in the garden will be just fine if there's no room in the house. Thanks in advance!
Previous tours:
2016 (November - now) Perth Australia - Darwin (10,000km)
2014 (May to October) Romania -Pamir Highway- Kyrgyzstan (8,000km)
2013 (April to December) UK to Turkey and back (9,500km)
I'd say I'm a trustworthy and a friendly guy who's never had problems saying hello to anyone and always enjoy a chat.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm interested to hear the different opinions of locals and varying cultures and have a few tales to tell from my own journeys. I just want to see the world through people who live & work in the countries I travel through, not through a tourist guide of leaflets from the town centre. Usually people I travel with have arranged us Couchsurfing spots and everyone has been super friendly, so I thought I'd give it a whirl now I'm back to solo cycling.
I will come with a smile!

Music, Movies, and Books
It's not possible to say a favourite band or genre, if it's good, if it's relevant and if it's uplifting then I'm keen for it! In terms of movies, who couldn't like Forest Gump!? Anything by Tarantino or Scorsese would be a fab flick, I love a film that makes you think, that has a crazy twist and/or has a narative true to life.
If you want a book to challenge your mind on strength and drive, get hold of Mark Twight's Kiss or Kill (about alpine climbing and obsession).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cycled from London to the Chinese boarder.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some bike maintenance easy peasy! Haha. Or maybe some basic guitar (I carry a small one on my bike). And let's share a beer or a cup of tea, I don't mind!
