About Me

I travel a lot, take online classes at university, and I am pursuing a job as a truck driver for the natural gas industry. I plan to live at home for the next couple years, doing this job and saving up so that after 2 years I will go to university to become a teacher. My hopes are to travel around the world, teaching English to whomever, all while enjoying and embracing the lifestyle of wherever it is I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because currently I live with my mother in a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house that is far too big for us. I am going to be living here with her for the next 2 and 1/2 years, then she is moving and so am I. In the meantime there is extra space that I want to make available to somebody who wishes to see Pittsburgh/the United States. I have hosted foreign exchange students from Germany and Italy, and I love the stories you share when living together. I hope that couchsurfing will create new memories and new stories with other people in the future.

Interests

Sports. Golf, tennis, football, american football, basketball, Frisbee.
Music. I play cello, viola, violin, guitar, piano and trumpet, as well as compose/record music in free time.
Food. I love food, everywhere that I travel I strive to eat as authentic as possible, and I love all the varieties that exist in the food domain.
Outdoors. From rock climbing, deep water soloing, rock jumping, swimming, boating, hunting, camping, hiking, I love it all. And so does my dog, Zeus a five year old beagle, who I take good care of and am quite fond of.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music. I have a great knowledge of classical, hip hop and rock and roll, everything else I enjoy a lot but am not as knowledgeable about.
Movies/shows. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Anthony Bourdain, Bear Grylls, The Office, BBC Top Gear, Star Wars, Get Him to The Greek and so much more.
Books. Outliers, Harry Potter series, Old Man and the Sea, Planet of the Apes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Thailand I got on a sailboat to do deep water soloing, where you rock climb with no harness to 15-25 meters high, and jump into the deep water that is at the foot of the cliff. It was a great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

The things I am most proficient in and probably best suited to teach are skiing, playing instruments, English, cooking, golfing, and riding a motorcycle. I like to learn languages and how to cook food popular in countries other than America. I share just about everything, I even let people drive my car when I am away in other countries. If I am not using something, as long as you take care of it, you may use it too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Information on cities in the United States, where to eat, drink, have fun, experience outdoors etc. Different foods that I learned how to cook while working in a restaurant and at cooking with family. Good stories, I can entertain with music. When in other countries I try to help out as much as possible with things I know how to do. I am an experienced landscaper, I can wash dishes, clean houses, help out with house construction projects as I was also a worker flipping houses for a real estate company, walk animals/ take care of them. Anything that I can do without making a mistake I will do.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Mexico, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
