About Me

Hi, I am Markus, a travel-loving aerospace enthusiast.
My passions, aviation and space technologies, are very close to my heart and I love learning how world around me works.

My ideal day would start with a swim in the sea, then a morning latte in a small cafe after which I join my team in the office to work on the next Mars mission. After the workday I would relax with playing a short padel match with my friends and then enjoying a sunset dinner with my family.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Generally, I am traveling to learn new perspective on life and see the beauty our planet has to offer. I am Couchsurfing to meet like-minded people, learn the perspectives of locals and enable more traveling (so to save money :)).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I was in high school and felt little underwhelmed with science lessons at school, I always wanted to find ways to share my passion for science and engineering. I believe my most impactful achievement so far has been to co-found the Estonian Student Satellite Foundation - an organisation which gives young people an opportunity to peek into the awesome world of science and offers them an opportunity to be part of a REAL SPACE MISSION. Isn't that cool?! I certainly thought so and still think so. I am a giver personality type and for 3 years I took it as my mission to kick-start this organisation which would give people the opportunity to learn, discover, explore and experience things that they would otherwise have to wait for years to happen, if then at all. Anyway, I believe this has been my biggest contribution to the society so far. I hope to top it with something even cooler some time in the future :D

Teach, Learn, Share

"The only thing I know for certain, is that I know nothing" -Socrates, (Plato, Apology 22d)

I would like to think of myself as an eternal student who is open to new perspectives at every opportunity. My interests have evolved from pottery to jazz to statesmanship to space technology and a lot in between.
