Like most people on this website, I love to travel. I was lucky enough to do a lot of travelling with my family as I was growing up -- mainly in Europe, Asia and Australia. (My first ever memory is of a giant Mickey Mouse trying to shake my hand in Disney Land when I was two years old. I got scared and started to cry.)
I've kept up the tradition and head off overseas every now and then, generally for at least a few months at a time. In 2010 I travelled solo for ten months in Europe and the Middle East -- a defining experience that I'd love to repeat at some stage in my life.
At the beginning of 2014 I started a Masters in Documentary (film & TV), which I'll complete at the end of 2015. I've also worked as a freelance editor and writer (mostly travel writing) and I run a little travel blog call The Melbourne Local. If you're interested, it's here: www.themelbournelocal.wordpress.com

Music, Movies, and Books
A few randomly chosen favourites of each...
Books: Lolita (Nabakov), Pride and Prejudice (Austen), In Patagonia (Chatwin), The Witches (Dahl), Of Mice and Men (Steinbeck), The Happy Prince (Wilde)...
Films: A Separation, Grizzly Man, Searching For Sugarman, On the Waterfront, Let the Right One In, Pan's Labyrinth, Gosford Park, Birdman, Sunset Blvd, Fargo, Vertigo, All About Eve, Blade Runner...
Music: Anything that makes me feel, either emotionally or physically. Mostly folk (Dylan, Rodriguez, etc), jazz, blues, classical, 'world' (whatever that means...).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working as an extra on a TV series in Syria. Horse-riding and dancing the waltz wearing 19th-century costumes in 45-degree heat was definitely something to remember!
Teach, Learn, Share
