This profile was Marlen's profile until 2010. Since, it became a couple and then a family profile. I'm updating the profile and when you see "I", it means "Marlene".
We live in a lovely small village between marmande and bergerac, if you pass by, just make a stop!

I'm doing what I enjoy, I don't care about being rich (and I'm not of course!) as far as I like my life, the people around me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

well, since we live at the end of the world, with no trainstation 20km around, even if we would like to have guests, it's hard... But in the past years, I was a volunteer in HC, and i was hosting both HC and CS members very offen, organized 2 huge meetings in my flat in bordeaux (70 people each time...)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Marlene: I love hosting, I love traveling and meeting... I was in Monnai, the first big camp of HC, if I can share music, good wine and talk about "god and the world" in 4 languages I feel good

Guip: It was a long process to convince him to take part in this experience, then we had the best guest we could imagine for a first try, and now he agrees to try travelling through the site, and agrees to host people...

Interests

Marlene: If I say it in 4 words it would be: family, languages, choir and travels. Longer version: My baby is the most important and the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I'm singing for about 20 years, and I'm fond of speaking foreign languages and meeting new people. I don't travel much anymore because I begun a new experience: i bought a house and I have a baby. New life is beginning. But soon we'll travel as a family!
I love: too going to the theater for free, the rain falling on the roofs when there's no hole in it, walking on the roofs of Paris, speaking to people in the subway, drinking a cup of tea, my house, hot showers, sleeping on the beach, taking pictures, hugging people, talking 4 languages in one sentence, chocolate, translating, red wine, talking -very much, hichhiking... to be continued. I have to add: I love my work, I'm librarian

I hate indifference, intolerance, no productive critics, egoism, pointless emails, people thinking only about receiving without giving, cold coffee, Chirac's and Sarkozy's face, sleeping in wet sleeping bag, carrying a huge bagpack, waiting more than one hour by hich-hiking, the question " what are you doing in your life?", my broken computer, getting bills, opening my eyes on a grey day...

About Guip -the man!-: history studies, works as a bookkeeper cause history is not a job... Loves football, local history -can be a good guide!- loves staying at home but allways ready to please me -and finally also allways enjoys it!-, loves wine. Smokes but allways outside.

About us: we are very very different, but somehow, it works! Our baby Milan was born last july. Now we experiment new travels with him. My darling is not a traveller but begins enjoying it, speaks french and survival english and spanish, he's more or less the opposite to me, but we enjoy being together.
