About Me
Hi, I'm Marlene, 26, and studying architecture in Mainz.
I have been dealing with health problems over the past year that have left me stuck in bed for some days.
Now that I am slowly getting better, I am eager to live life again, experience things, and meet new people!
Interests
I like plants, even though they don't always like me back...
Recently, I have fallen down the rabbit hole of candle-making. Now my apartment smells like a baking factory, and I have weirdly shaped candles everywhere. The good thing? I finally have easy-to-make presents for everyone. The bad thing? I can't stop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled around the world for half a year when I was 18. I had so many interesting experiences and many memorable adventures, like biking along the Californian coast for a day or sleeping in a mountain cabin in Taiwan. In the end, the most memorable experiences for me are always the conversations I get to have with other people.
Teach, Learn, Share
After my gap year, I studied East Asian Sciences in my hometown Heidelberg, learning as much as I could about Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan. It felt in a way like looking into a warbed mirror. The differences between our cultures taught me a lot about humanity as a whole. I learned that we are far more similar than we are different and that our lifes quality doesn't depend only on where we are, but primarily on who we spend our time with.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I consider myself a very flexible person. Whether you prefer to spend a lot or a little of your time with me, I am happy to adapt to your lifestyle. I do love a good conversation, but I am also an expert at wandering around on my own. I prefer calmer activities as I get easily overwhelmed in groups of people.
