About Me

Hello everybody!

Recently married, my husband and I just moved to Noumea, in New Caledonia, where we work in an international school.

Something a bit original about myself is that I'm half French/half German, and my French part is actually Spanish and Italian (sounds weird).
And I'm so lucky that I got all bad sides: I have no humor, I talk very loudly, I'm always complaining, etc.

My husband, Ben, on the other side, has only Spanish origins.

****

So... now that you believed all these clichés, I can start a real description. I like cooking (and also eating), singing, dancing Rock and Roll (or just dancing in a random way works for me too), listening to music, watching films and series, nature, hiking, spending time with my friends, animals and children (one of the main reasons I've chosen that profession).

My husband likes playing guitar, drawing, eating junk food, having drinks, laughing and dancing.

I finished University in June 2017, then I worked 3 months as an English teacher in Thai Binh and ended up sales executive haha
But I was missing teaching too much so taught again. I worked in the French school and then as a K2 teacher in a bilingual (French-English) Kindergarten in Hanoi (Vietnam).

I left Việt Nam on March and moved back to my parents house in La Ciotat.

I worked in Senegal from 2021 to 2022 and in DRC from 2022 to 2023.

I'm not smoking and can't stay in a place with too much smoke :/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I said, I have Italian origins and I would really like to talk Italian.
In January 2016, I went in Rome for the first time and loved the city (in between I visited the city a second time in February 2017 and again in June). So I decided to start learning Italian and travel in this beautiful country.
That's how I arrived here, on Couchsurfing, since this website sounds to be the perfect way to learn Italian and to get further information about the culture and way of living in Italy.

But I am a very curious person and I have an insatiable thirst for discovering new cultures. I love travelling, meeting new people and learn more about them, their traditions, their own story, etc.

Interests

I really like a lot of things like travelling, walking, dancing, singing, watching films or serial (GoT, Viking, HIMYM, Dexter, Switched at birth, Wednesday, the 100...), cooking, eating, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Let's talk and see, if I have done something amazing ^^

Teach, Learn, Share

As a teacher, I like sharing my knowledge with other people.
But I'm also a curious person and love learning knew things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since my purpose is really to know the "way of living" of the people living in the country that I'm visiting, I can share a lot of my time in several activities like: walking (city, mountain, forest, etc.), meal (I could also cook or even eat vegan (some people will recognize themself here ^^)), visiting historical places or any other activity.

Austria, Belgium, Benin, Canada, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Caledonia, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Senegal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, United States, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
