Hellooo, I'm Marlene! The last two years I traveled through Canada, USA, México, Guatemala and El Salvador almost just with Couchsurfing and Workaway. I really enjoyed meeting all the people and seeing the country from different angles of view. Now I moved to Freiburg a few weeks ago to study geography and political Science and want to give something back. So I can offer an air mattress in my small student apartment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I loved traveling with Couchsurfing and met such amazing people. Now I want to give something back to help other travelers exploring Freiburg or to just have a day of planning and chilling out.

Interests

I like to try and learn new things. In Canada I figured out that I like yoga, mountain biking and surfing. Now I try some new sports at university like juggling and make new friends. I would like to explore the city a bit more as well.

I like a little bit of every music as long as I associate good moments with it. And I like indie and alternative Musik. Also like Green Day, Oasis, Rise Against,...

One book I read last year that really inspired me was "Around the World with 50 Euros" by Christopher Schacht.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are many of them, but I think the most exciting was the Arctic expedition to Spitsbergen that I went to in 2022 as a student.

Also my first solo trip about 1 1/2 years from Canada down to El Salvador and back.
