ABOUT ME

Hi there! My name is Marlen, nice to meet you : ) I am a language and writing professor from the USA, used to be a mental health therapist. Have lived all over the world but now living in warm, tropical Finland...ha ha. Looking for some couches to crash on so I can spend my money on food with friends rather than a crappy hostel! Would love to take you out for a meal in exchange for a quiet spot to sleep.

Donations, will definitely offer a couch to crash on once I'm not living in a tiny one room apt in the middle of nowhere Finland (for now all I can offer is a floor if I'm in town)!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have enjoyed staying at friends of friends homes over the years, but am totally new to the CS experience aside from renting rooms in private homes while traveling.

Interests

Good at chit chat and CLEANING OTHER PEOPLE'S APARTMENTS ha ha...I love food and moderate drink (more to taste than to get trashed but hey, there's a time and place for everything). I love to sing, make music (piano), especially jazz, lounge, classic rock and blues. Avid museum and historic architecture tourist. I'm told that I'm funny and easy to be with.

I love to make music, play backgammon, enjoy good food and drink, play cards, visit galleries and museums, attend theater or cinema, and love to chat about language and identity!

Yes, please! ALL OF THEM! LOL...I love cinema, love live music (especially when I can appreciate the artistry of the performance), and am a voracious reader, mostly historical fiction, humor and classics.
