ABOUT ME

We, that is Maren and Alex, are currently on our 1-year-trip through some parts of the world.
As to right now we are planning on traveling through India and Nepal first before we start a Work and Travel Trip through Australia. In the "end" we are planning to travel from South Africa up to Kenia.
Maren has finished her medicine studies this year and is now very much looking forward to traveling! Alex has already graduated his Biology Studies a while ago and has spent the last year traveling through South East Asia, New Zealand and South America. He is not even close to being fed up with life on the road. So we decided to spend the next year doing exactly that.
We are both looking forward to meeting all kinds of new people, getting to know their culture and just having a great time together chatting ... and partying ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As we are on this trip together, we are interested in "couches" where the both of us can stay together at.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Alex has already made some really great experiences with couchsurfing all around the world.
Especially in Santiago de Chile the guy he stayed at was very friendly, showed him around the city and partied hard :)
We both share the opinion that couchsurfing is one of the best chances to meet local people and therefore get a different look on the country and the culture compared to ticking off only the tourist attractions.

Interests

As we are travelling for one year, we are both most interested in getting in touch with (local) people, learn how they live and get a glimpse of the culture. So travelling is one of our biggest interests.
Besides, Alex is very much into (Hip Hop) music. He listens to all the stuff he can get hold on to, no matter where it comes from. He has a snowboard and skateboard past and likes to play football, volley ball, table tennis, and chess (though Maren doesn't even know the rules :p )
Maren also enjoys the shitload of music Alex is trying to make her listen to. Additionally, she likes sports, being outside, buying shoes which are too small ;) and likes to talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

We do enjoy a lot of different kinds of music as well as movies. Though we don't like the classic hollywood stuff too much and are more interested in more serious movies with a meaning or at least with a fascinating story to tell. Same for books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Alex has done a skydive in New Zealand as well as a bungee jump in Peru. He's a kind of an adrenalin junkie in a relaxed way.

Teach, Learn, Share

You need a playlist of classic New York Hip Hop from the 90s or pumping west coast bangers? Or is it more about the stuff from the south that you would like to listen? Instrumental, German, or european Rap? I have the very best of Soul music to offer or head-banging Death Metal-growls.
I love music but can't play it. Unfortunately!
