About Me

**I'm travelling Canada over the summer till around late August 2016 Whooooo! Down to Vancouver then back up to New Brunswick, so I'm afraid I won't be able to host at the moment :)**

I'm an easy going individual who unfortunately struggles to write personal bios! Let's see how this goes...
I love to meet new people and hear about their experiences. It fascinates me that I'm surrounded by so many other people who each see the world in a different way and each have their own individual stories. It's constantly both eye opening and terrifying to glimpse.
I like to fill my years with random projects that are purely for my own entertainment and the purpose of being creative. Sometimes I put a bit too much time into these and maybe don't prioritize as well as I should but hey, creativity is important! Not everything has to have a profound or "useful" outcome.
I'm a 'flexitarian' which means I'll mostly eat a vegetarian based diet. Generally I'll only eat meat if I'm staying with someone as a guest so as not to inconvenience them. Also I'll eat it if it would otherwise go to waste. I hate wasting food.
I'm probably what most people would call an atheist. I like to dance wildly but my brain usually forbids me in public. I like to think I'm confident and unphased but am secretly shy and uncertain.
I suppose I'm just another small piece of the giant puzzle that is life really, wandering and wondering at the world around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe human kindness and generosity to strangers because let's face it, we're all crazy people in a crazy world who should help each other out. Also this seems like a fantastic way to travel, seek out new experiences and meet people! :D

Interests

I aspire to create music! Do the musician thing and all that.
I sing, play guitar and attempt a bit of piano.
I enjoy art in general.
Exploring and adventuring the wilds.
Ridiculous card games are good.
Deep philosophical discussions about morality, the universe, dolphins and probably anything else for that matter.
Hacky sack.
Yoga- or yoga like things (sometimes)
Hiking/camping and swimming.
Learning and mastering something. If it's complicated and impressive my joy is greater.
I love impulsive acts of creativity or randomness but I seldom find people to join me. Generally they're 'too busy with life'.
Reading because books, obviously.
Oh and travelling! Probably why I'm on Couchsurfing ae.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Musical inspirations include John Mayer, Hozier, Ben Howard, The Kooks, Jack Johnson, David Bowie, Matt Corby, Jeff Buckley , Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Sticky Fingers, Damien Rice, Postmodern Jukebox, Maroon 5 (Songs About Jane),Gorillas, the Beetles, the Strokes, No Doubt, Ed Sheeran, Fat Freddy's Drop, Stevie Wonder, Black Keys, Kodaline, Mike Love, Queen, Crowded House, Black Keys, Eddie Vedder, Bob Marley, ... the list goes on. There's far too much amazing music out there to list it all!

MOVIES: Naturally whatever's entertaining! I loved Memento, The Dark Night, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, anything Studio Ghibli, Pulp Fiction, The Man from UNCLE, Princess Mononoke, Princess Bride, UP, Wall E, Zootopia and all those other Pixar/animated things etc,

BOOKS: Ahhhh there's far too many... any book is a good book! Except for the bad books of course. Patrick Rothfuss, Neil Gaiman, Margaret Atwood, Patrick Ness, Joe Abercrombie, Maurice Gee, Diana Wynne Jones, those sorts of authors. Classics are great, Lord of the Flies, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Clockwork Orange, To Kill A Mockingbird etc Novels of fiction and all that. Wizard of Earthsea, Black Cauldron- can't help but enjoy the fantasy books. Redwall/Deltora series were my fave as a kid. Hmmm what else... A little life, the God of small things, the wind singer trilogy, Mortal Engines series, Roald Dahl... Books man, like wow.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure I've done anything that can be classed as amazing haha... oh well, 😂I guess my hitchiking adventures over Canada could be?
Hitchiked down from East to West and back again over the summer exploring, sleeping in interesting locations and having adventures.
I once made a thousand paper cranes, which was more stressful and time consuming than amazing. The lesson I learnt is not to give yourself a tight deadline.
Ran a marathon in 2015 after getting a fever the night before, in the midst of rehearsing for a musical that opened the week after, with less than ideal training, a multitude of nearing assignment deadlines and gale force headwinds! Didn't go well to say the least but still finished the race and raised some money for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories, good banter, a dash of encentric personality and if you want I'll play you a song or two! Except wonderwall... please don't make me play wonderwall.
