ABOUT ME

I am a half British half Austrian psychology graduate, working in Human Resources. I talk a lot and I talk very fast - but I try to dial back on that when I'm with new people. Like many other couch surfers I love travelling and meeting new people from around the world. I spent a year backpacking and working in Australia and having studied in the UK, I have always been away from home.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to lead my life in a way that I won't regret anything. I don't believe in regrets because whatever I did, it seemed right to me in that moment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can be really touristy and am not spontaneous enough. So, I enjoy meeting local people and viewing the city through their eyes. It helps me to broaden my horizon. I hope to be able to give my guests the experience they are seeking - be that, doing all the touristy things in my city or finding really random cafés and activities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had great Couchsurfing experiences so far. I have met wonderful people who seem to embrace couch surfing into their daily lives- always trying to be able to host or help people find hosts if their couch isn't free.

Interests

I am passionate about snowboarding and used to compete in snowboardcross. I love photography and am thankful for when I get some time to explore the world through the lens of my camera. I am currently also a volunteer of the TEDx Vienna team - this takes up a lot of my free time but getting positive feedback from speakers and attendees makes it worthwhile to me. I am learning Austrian sign language - it is a fascinating experience so far.

I do quite a bit of hiking, but to be honest I don't always enjoy the "walking up" bit. I just love being in the mountains and the views you are rewarded with at the summit. I climbed Kilimanjaro with a group of students at university and I love exploring new mountain ranges (eg. in Uzbekistan or New Zealand).

I also love hot air ballooning. i got involved with my university's hot air ballooning club and this gave me the chance to appreciate the world from above.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing Kilimanjaro- standing on the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, exhausted, yet appreciating one of the nicest sunsets I have ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love snowboarding and I am also a qualified teacher-unfortunately I don't live in the mountains, but I would be glad to go to the ski slopes (1-2hrs away) in winter for a few days and teach my guests how to snowboard.
