About Me
Owner-Director 'Move-N-Music'
My name is Marni Levitt. I’m an artist and a teacher. I belong to the Ontario College of Teachers, the Ontario Camps Association and I am a certified Sivananda Yoga Instructor (RYT 200). Through OCT, I am certified to teach Primary to Senior, as well as Special Education, Music, Drama and French. I am currently a member of Folk Music Ontario and Akin Artist Collective in Toronto. I have been building Move-N-Music programs for many years, both through my work in public school, and independently. I have worked extensively with children in the mainstream population, as well as children with special physical and developmental needs. I also love working with adults and seniors. I have been performing, creating productions, writing songs and teaching for as long as I can remember!
I love to help people of all ages get in touch with their strengths, talents, creativity and passions, as well as to locate the balance, health and peace that are inherent. When we are able to establish a connection within, then it is possible to extend that connection to others and to our ecological environment. The result is an embodied sense of connection with the community and with the natural world.
I believe it is very important for children to start to develop lifelong healthy habits from a young age. When the brain and body are growing rapidly in the early stages of development, it is essential to make those mind-body-emotion connections. It is so rewarding to see that spark ignite in children when they tune-in to a heightened awareness of self. This awareness in turn becomes a building block to nurture strength, resilience and flexibility in life.
