Overview
About Me
We are a house owned and managed by those who live in it. Founded in 2012, it is guided by the vision to be a self-sustainable living and learning environment that serves as a model for a conscientious community. To reach these ends, we embark on a plethora of projects and improvements, both to benefit the individuals in the house as a whole. One needs only to look at our bountiful permaculture garden or the rock wall in our (what used to be) dining room to get a sense of the ingenuity and passion which drives our house.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We as a house are always open and welcoming to people passing through the area and creating a strong sense of community of locals and those new to the area. We strive to be a creative outlet with a number of ongoing projects, including incorporating as a legal non-profit and maintaining our ever-growing garden! Our goal is to create a sustainable house plan and love seeing people add to the charm of the house.

Music, Movies, and Books
House member faves include classic rock, folk, indie, pop, electronic-- you name it, we can probably jive with it. Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Scorsese, and Comedy Central can be found on our house TV pretty frequently, right next to our many shelves of books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We have strong institutional knowledge of past members, their accomplishments and travels, as well as the cool things current house members participate it. This includes (but is not limited to) spending summers in Alaska working for the Forest Service, working as schoolteachers on both US coasts, studying different species in Zambia, spending summers in the Pacific Northwest, and dedicating career paths to non-profit sectors to create more sustainable communities.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Zambia
