COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well the first one was really great! I met three CS in Am*dam for a drink and they all were very kind to me, they made me feel good and I appreciated their company. Never thought that it could be so easy and pleasant.

Interests

I like staying outdoor, breath the fresh air, seeing… nature, in general. I love running, it makes me feel alive. There is a sort of magic when my pace in perfect synchrony with my breath, the cold air invest me and my feet nearly don’t touch the ground: it’s almost a fly. But this doesn’t happen so frequently, most of the time I got a good run, a nice chat with a friend, a not-so-pleasant training session for the next marathon. I like Nordic skiing (skating not classic), I hope the winter coming will be really snowy, I need to refresh my technique so I’ll enjoy it the most (and then eat something good in a dew, sit near the fireplace sipping a glass of ‘vin brule’). I like going to the cinema a lot, I mean cinema s.s., not those cold multi-widescreen-dolbysurroud: yes, I even like having the tallest man in the world sat right above me, covering 90% of the screen, and that couple behind me whispering comments all the time. I like any movie that gives me an emotion but I get off scary movies (I’m a highly sensitive person: I won’t sleep at night). I like project and building things for myself: I built a piece of furniture for my bathroom and the bedsides tables: they sill stand up! I’m interested in people: each one of us is a strange mixture, discovering the keycode to solve the puzzle is really intriguing. I’m interested in me (a healthy egoism): sometimes I feel a strong need of sharing experiences, opinions, to give and take but some other times, with the same intensity I want to stay by myself, to fill the space and my mind with me and nothing else. I'm enchanted by things that I cannot group into a define sector: bright colors in modern arts, the purity of the marble in a sculpture, an old b/w photograph, a singer’s voice, instant of everyday life... I like beauty, my personal concept of beauty

Music, Movies, and Books

At the present time: books=crime stories (Hakam Nesser ‘Carambole’, Van de Wetering); music = something by R.E.M., Gnars Barkley, Mika,70’s disco dance but it depends on my mood and on what comes out from the radio ('Il ruggito del coniglio', 'Caterpillar', 'Dispenser': great RADIO2 and RADIODEEJAY); movies = I need more time to pick one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing… what is amazing for me could not be amazing for you at all! I think I nearly experimented the Stendhal’s syndrome, staring at a Ronis picture: I felt this… falling sensation that was attracting and frightening me at the same time. I had a face-to-face meeting with an oil plant offshore and I passed through the Corinth Straight when I worked for tree years and a half (not continuosly) in a research vessel. I skydived for some years, enjoying those few second of freefall, floating without any constrain. Once when I was running I was attached by a water tiger (ok, it’s just a beetle but this is its scientific name and, I don’t know why and how, it was gasping like a sexual maniac!)

I'm good at ... I must ask.
I know something about running, Nordic skiing, freeclimbing. I'm studying beekeeping.
I attended a two year acting course (to express myself in a better way, I don’t think I’m going to start a career as an actress), I'm taking sing lessons (I'm a contralto)
I would like to learn tap dancing
I can share my time, my enthusiasm
