Overview
About Me
I am an engineer by trade, beer brewer, DiY builder and Aistė is a graphic designer, landscape shaper and gardener. We love outdoors, hiking, cycling, cooking, good cup of coffee and always - a good chat.
We are also keen on meeting fellow travellers and been members of various hospitality exchange clubs, such as Home Exchange, CS, Warm Showers and BeWelcome, and we hosted a lot of people in our homes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having had amazing experiences in places as close as my hometown and as far as Amazonian jungle with various hospex platforms (CS, Hospitalityclub, Airbnb, Helpex, WarmShowers, BeWelcome), I have become an advocate of this phenomena

Music, Movies, and Books
A very wide variety of music indeed, from reggae to kraut rock and indietronica
South American, British and some North American literature, cyberpunk, Iain Banks, William Gibson, Paul Bowles, William Boroughs, Cortasar. Lately peeking into the area of social critics, psychology, anthropology and history of indigenous people
Movies by Lithuanian directors, but then many others, from Wong Kar Wai to Takeshi Kitano, from Cohen brothers to Lars von Trier, Jim Jarmush, Aki Kaurismaki, Paolo Sorrentino, Otar Iosseliani and plethora of world directors. During last few years got interested in South American and Spanish, Iranian, Georgian, Turkish cinema
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Meeting these extraordinary people in my life. Constantly experiencing these small revealing moments which are as big as universe
Sailed a schooner across Baltic Sea. Oh yes and once I was close to circumnavigating Cape Horn. Although 'close' doesn't count
Teach, Learn, Share
Everything is knowledge and sharing is essential. I learn from my own experience but I would never able to learn as much without help and inspiration of others
On a practical side, I can teach a lot of diy matters - from how to brew beer to runing a magazine
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of stories and tips/tricks about traveling in general, and about particular localities in my hometown, Southeast Asia, South America and beyond. We can cook together, go on a beer crawl, go ice-sailing on Couronian Lagoon or have a canoeing/cycling trip to the wilderness of Lithuania. Or maybe brew a beer
