About Me

Hi couchsurfers!

I'm a Spanish living in beautiful New Zealand for 5 years now, and I love traveling around the country and the world. I have just taken the step into the world of work contracting and this is giving me a lot of freedom to develop personal projects and have a much better work and travel balance. My dream is to be able to apply my skills and knowledge doing something to help others in a country in need. Hopefully that comes soon!

In the meanwhile, I keep on exploring the world and its people: my next trip will take me and my partner Neil, from Indonesia all the way to Spain, passing by Japan, Russia and Central and Eastern Europe, ending in Italy where we are planning to participate in the wine vintage in September.

We have been housesitting and living in our campervan for the last year but hope to have a place of our own when we return, where we can hopefully host couchsurfers and show them our lovely city, Wellington (or wherever it is at that stage, who knows!).

We love meeting new people and the experience and knowledge sharing that it brings, that is what we hope to give and receive from couch surfing :)

All the best!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a wide range of music types from rock, punk and metal to reggae and funk, passing by more relaxing atmospheric styles as well as shoe gaze and post rock :)

My favorite books are almost any by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Dostoevsky and Paul Auster, short stories from Edgar Alan Poe and Neil Gaiman, and the most recent books I've read and that have become two of my favorites: "Ubuntu" from Heather Ellis and "Indonesia: Exploring the Improbable Nation", from Elisabeth Pisani. Both travel books written by independent, strong and compassionate women :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Progressing from arriving in New Zealand 5 years ago as a tourist to getting the Permanent Resident status, opening my own company and living for a year jumping in between travelling, house sitting and my last acquisition: my beloved campervan which is showing me that we need very little to live with and reminds me everyday how lucky I am of having a roof over my head and living in such an amazing country :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a native Spanish speaker and always willing to learn other languages, so we can give it a try and interchange a few useful phrases such as "Can I have a beer?", or "Where is the bathroom please!?!"

I'm more than happy to show you around this beautiful city where I'm currently living and introduce you to its sites, nature, cultural options and experiences. I practice Ashtanga yoga and Acro yoga so I can share that with you too. Cooking is another one of my passions, and I love sharing meals with people.

But what I love the most is talking about travelling, travel plans, other countries and regions, different cultures and people...So let's just sit, have a coffee and chat away :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can't currently offer accommodation (sorry the van is not big enough for more than the two of us!) but I'm happy to take you around Wellington and show you its beautiful sites :)
